Indian home interior marketplace startup Livspace nabs $70 million in funding

Bangalore based online home interior marketplace firm Livspace has now nabbed $70 million in a funding round led by Goldman Sachs and TPG Growth for the company's expansion in its home market.

This Series C round for the company which says it's on track to hit over $125 million of annualized gross revenue by March next year was also participated in by notable VC firms Bessemer Ventures, Jungle Ventures and Helion Ventures.

The 4 year old company has now raised nearly $100 million in total marking it as one of the most funded and notable startups in the rapidly growing Indian tech scene. It currently operates in 7 Indian cities and plans to expand into other 6 other regions by next year.

The Skydio R1 self flying camera now films moving cars

Skydio, The robotics company founded 4 years ago notable for its R1 autonomous drone which shoots 4K footage and could capture moments while following people around has now gotten an awesome feature which breaks ground in so many ways.

The drone can now follow moving cars while shooting footage, A new feature which will see it capturing much more better, daring and actionable moments which is a feature that can be likened to that of high budget Hollywood studios when making scenes involving automobiles.



This new feature dubbed "Car Follow" comes as a cinematic mode which films its users on four wheels and was made possible with the training of the drones' neural networks using a huge number data sets of different car images, The drone will make use of its 13 cameras for the feature of capturing nice footage and also autonomously guiding its locomotion from different positions.







The self-flying camera will gain this feature after a software update which rolled out today for the R1 users, This will give all users an amazing ability of capturing all the stunning autocross racing, road trips, safe car races and will also provide film-makers with a very useful tool at a way much more cheaper cost.

The R1 is one of the best drones on the market right now from customer surveys and reviews, Skydio did a very good work in providing this amazing high-end drone which comes at a huge price of $2,499 but is totally worth that amount which we're pretty sure will go down with time as more manufacturing efficiency takes place.

Uber reportedly in talks to acquire Dubai based competitor Careem

Uber has now been reported to be in talks to acquire its Dubai based and major Middle Eastern competitor Careem in a deal which Bloomberg states could value Careem at between $2 billion to $2.5 billion.

According to the people familiar with the matter as reported by Bloomberg, Negotiations are on-going while Careem's management is working on convincing its shareholders of the merits of a deal.

No final decision has been made yet and the reported acquisition might be ruled out as reported by the sources.

Holographic AR display tech firm WayRay gets $80 million round at $500 million valuation

Zurich based WayRay, a developer of holographic AR display tech and hardware has now raised $80 million in a Series C round led by automobile firm Porsche with the likes of Hyundai, Alibaba, China Merchants Capital, electronics manufacturer JVCKenwood and a group of sovereign wealth funds (from Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Russia, Bahrein) participating in the round.

WayRay is gearing this funding towards bolstering Research & Development, team expansion, industrialization and establishment of an affiliate with a pilot production line in Germany next year.


This round as per TechCrunch reportedly values the company which creates fundamental innovations for development of new AR technologies at $500 million.
